MEMORIAL OF WAR AND TYRANNY
In the rear part of the town square another historical place is visible; however, this place originated in more recent times. In the former park of ‘Villa Westerfrölke’ an ensemble of memorials was generated in 1961. This ensemble has since been used as a venue for the celebration of the annual Memorial Day. The peculiar composition of nested crosses refers to the pain of the victims of war and tyranny, for whom this space is dedicated to.
