During the Middle Ages the slow colonisation of the heath and moor areas around Hesselteich arose. The counts of Ravensberg were powerful within this process, as they dominated the country and built several small farmsteads during the late Middle Ages. In 1676, the farm Mowwe settled with farm buildings and a sheepfold. In 1868 there was a significant increase of the farm. This farm still operates agriculture and a horse training company.
