KREUZ-SQUARE
Until the construction of Bielefelder Straße in 1960, Kreuzplatz was a triangular square. It was named after the stone cross that was part of a larger ensemble with three chestnut trees and the monument to Kaiser Wilhelm I, which is now located in the city park. The cross can be found as a painted cross in the city coat of arms.
