THE EQUESTERIAN FARM HEMSCHENHERM
As an example of early industrialisation in Hesselteich the former distillery Julius Knemeyer must be assessed. It was established in 1870, and an almost legendary booze was already produced in times of the German Empire. This booze was distributed throughout Versmold. Knemeyers popular ‘Gold Pearl’ and the so-called ‘Silversherr’ became authentic brand products that were even sold region wide. In 1986 the Riding Pony Stud farm Hesselteich was founded. The trend of the sport pony was recognised early and hence, the stud farm developed into one of the leading breeds for riding ponies in Germany.
